Over two weeks, we'll be viewing "The Shack," a movie based on the book of the same title. The story is not intended to nail down every detail about the Holy Trinity; rather, it is author William P. Young's attempt to share his faith to his children through story.
As you view or read "The Shack," I invite you to consider what you have come to both question and believe about God through your reading of the Bible and your life experiences. You're welcome to borrow Pastor Steve's DVD of "The Shack" after April 19. |

Click on the Youth Spiritual Gifts Inventory below to display a multi-page PDF spiritual gifts inventory for young people. The inventory itself uses the language of "test," but I don't like that term. This is not a test to pass, but a way of seeking to take inventory of the gifting of the Holy Spirit within us. Furthermore, this inventory is not meant to be a final word about your spiritual gifts but rather a starting place for gifts discovery. So, I invite you to take the inventory and then explore the various

Veni Sancte Spiritus (latin for "Come, Holy Spirit")
The full translation of the song follows: Come, Holy Spirit, from heaven shine forth with your glorious light. Veni Sancte Spiritus. Come, Father of the poor, come, generous Spirit, come, light of our hearts. Veni Sancte Spiritus. Come from the four winds, O Spirit, come breath of God; disperse the shadows over us, renew and strengthen your people. Veni Sancte Spiritus. Most kindly warming light! Enter the inmost depths of our hearts, for we are faithful to you. Without your presence we have nothing worthy, nothing pure. Veni Sancte Spiritus. You are only comforter, Peace of the soul. In the heat you shade us; in our labor you refresh us, and in trouble you are our strength. Veni Sancte Spiritus. On all who put their trust in you and receive you in faith, shower all your gifts. Grant that they may grow in you and persevere to the end. Give them lasting joy! Veni Sancte Spiritus. |

This week's video is probably beyond full comprehension for most of us, but Pastor Bell does an amazing job of inviting us into pondering the wonder of God's creation from the ancient perspective of Genesis 1 as well as our modern scientific observations.
There will be no quizzes on this video; rather, allow yourself to be amazed at the incredible creation in which we live and the awesome Creator who continues to create. Preview of Next Week: Pastor Steve will be back as our faith ancestors invite us to be amazed at God, the Creator. Don't forget to get your pictures from last week to Pastor Steve so that he can have those ready for next week's class. Blessings!
