It is a common practice during the 40 days of Lent to be especially intentional about setting aside time for daily Scripture reading and reflection. This year, we will claim this practice by reading through the Gospel of John together, starting March 1 and spilling over into Easter season. Clicking on the scripture below will provide the New International Version of each passage.
As you read, you are encouraged to use the S.O.A.P. method for keeping a spiritual journal:
S = Scripture Read the Bible passage for the day. Copy the verse which catches your attention word-for-word into your journal.
O = Observation What does this passage tell you about God? Our world? Yourself?
A = Application How will your life be different today because of what you have read? Lessons to be learned? Examples to be followed or avoided? Promises to be claimed and enjoyed? Character trait of God revealed? Deeds to start, continue, or stop?
P = Prayer Write out a prayer for yourself and others based on what you read today.
