WHAT IS VBS DAY CAMP?
Day Camp is Vacation Bible School for youth who have completed Kindergarten through 6th grade as well as Preschoolers. Day Camp is a unique blend of outdoor and congregational ministry with crafts, music, worship, games, Bible study, fellowship, and recreation. Fortune Lake Lutheran Camp summer staff - caring, committed young adults who are trained to lead Bible studies, worship, music, recreation, crafts, and to build community - will be onsite to lead with the help of many local volunteers.

WHEN IS VBS DAY CAMP?
June 12-16, Monday-Friday
  • 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM Grades 1 through 6
  • 9:00 AM to Noon Preschool

WHERE IS VBS DAY CAMP?
Day Camp will be at Immanuel Lutheran Church with green space at Miner's Park.

HOW MUCH IS VBS DAY CAMP?
VBS Day Camp is FREE, including snacks and lunch, to all children. Any FREEWILL OFFERING is welcome to cover the expenses of hosting Day Camp.

VBS Day Camp Elements

Opening Worship - Each day begins with a time to introduce the daily theme through use of scripture, song, drama, puupets, prayer, and more.

Music - Music is an integral part of the Day Camp experience.

Bible Study - The Bible Study and week's theme will unfold in small groups led by Fortune Lake staff. Hands-on learning is stressed. See daily Bible stories below.

Large Group Games - Fun outdoor games appropriate to each age as well as some rainy day games in our back pocket, just in case!

Food - Morning Snacks and Lunch are provided FREE for all campers and volunteers.

Candle Fire/Sacred Silence - Day Camp is a very busy day for campers. These activities are intentional moments of rest and quiet. It may involve story time, review of the day, or singing slower camp songs.

Arts & Crafts - Campers make something each day that ties to the daily theme and provides them an opportunity to bring Day Camp home to their families.

B to the IBLE - B to the IBLE is a time of fun Bible activities. It is a mixture of games and Bible study. This is a chance to either reinforce the daily themes, or explore different Bible texts with campers. This is a great way to learn through play.

Closing Worship - Each day ends with a time to review the daily theme through use of scripture, song, prayer, drama, and camper participation.

FINAL SPECIAL EVENT - June 16 Friday Closing Worship for Campers, Families and Friends at Immanuel. Come celebrate the stories and songs we've learned throughout the week.

How can you help?
Share your talents from helping with children, leading music, preparing snacks and meals, playground patrol, housing camp staff, or anything else you might be interested in!  Grandparents and older teens are welcome to help, too.
