So you're hoping to make your Affirmation of Baptism?
Your Rite of Confirmation, this fall? Read on...
1.Sunday, October 18, 2020, at 2:00 PM will be our Confirmation Sunday Worship Service at which 9th grade confirmands may make their Affirmation of Baptism. It's a great idea to invite baptismal sponsors (godparents) and others you hold dear. Face masks and social distancing will be practiced, and there will be overflow space in the Fellowship Hall. Those not here in-person may participate via our LIVE STREAM. A recorded version will be available afterwards in our Worship Video Archives.
2. EACH CONFIRMAND PREPARES a faith project of a Conversation with God that will be presented in whole or part during the October 18 2:00 PM Service.
Check out this INSTRUCTION SHEET (front and back). Obviously this is not a typical exam that tests memorized knowledge. Rather, it’s an opportunity for you to reflect on your own faith journey as it stands today - what you're convinced of in your heart, what your questioning in your gut, and what to do (one next step on the journey) in light of these. I’m not asking for every thought or issue in these areas, but asking you to focus on what you consider most important to you. I already know what I believe. I’d like further insight into your beliefs. After considering that, the invitation is to share your discoveries with the rest of us. How? In the INSTRUCTION SHEET I suggested writing a letter to God, but it could be through other means. Confirmands have come up with some pretty diverse ways of expressing themselves through the years, everything from written essays to wood carvings to skits to video game design and more. You have your own ways to express yourself that you can use.
YOUR PROJECT IS DUE in Pastor Steve's Office by Oct. 14, 2020
3.SET UP AN INTERVIEW WITH PASTOR STEVE to discuss your project and/or project idea. Call, texted or email Pastor Steve to set up a conversation with him. Your interview must be completed from now through Oct. 15.
